User applications fail to launch after latest June 2016 Microsoft .Net Framework security update
This KB will discuss the problems that will occur when KB3161608, KB3163017, or KB3163018 are installed on a Client Machine. This can affect CIC Versions 4.0 to 2016 R2.
Client side user applications fail to log in on workstations after installing KB3161608, KB3163017 or KB3163018. Users will see an error when trying to connect such as “Unable to log on for the following reason: Session timed out during login attempt.”, “An unknown error has occurred”, or “0 bytes from network.”
The Windows KB is enabling support for Diffie-Hellman ciphers on the workstation. This is discussed in the following Windows 10 (Microsoft Edge) Microsoft Security Bulletin MS16–068.
SCR IONCORE-1087 has been created for this issue. This SCR is built into CIC 2016 R3.
